  • Ok, Mylenium…you’ve done it again: whet my appetite for more!!!! I’ve only heard about Luxology and Modo once or twice, but maaaaaaaaaaaan…that was cool. So, when is the next installment? 😉

BTW, great tut, man! I hope to be an AE samurai like you when I grow up.

Thnsk, Colin! I’ll try it ASAP. Anybody have a suggestion concerning the second effect?

  • Sorry, Justin. All I got was a ‘respond to this post’ page. Did someone already ask Aharon this question?

  • Brilliant, as always! Let me just take the time to say that your tutorials are really proving to be invaluable, Aharon, and not just in terms of the technical delivery, but also encouraging me to try new things in AE and remove the glass ceiling.

On a slight, OT, what app/codec do you use to capture your tutorials? I’ve always noticed the small file size and sharpness, and have always been curious.

Again, really good work! I look forward to the tutorials every week, and hope to start submitting some of my own one day.

search for “infinite zoom” in the archives. It might help you achieve what you’re looking for. Chris Smith gave a solid explanation just last week.

i used Creaturehouse Expression – I think Microsoft bought them out – to convert image to JPEG with little loss of quality and it could scale up pretty well.

  • Scratch that. Saw the reply on the C4D forum. Thanks, man!

  • Chris –

On the topic of C4D, are there any DVD training series around? I recently started looking at 8.1, and I like the app’s intuitiveness and featureset (pity I can’t use the path deform plug-in, though…when I upgrade!) and well, it works with Ae, so I’m more than game!

    Thanks for any advice!

    Hi, Mylenium –

Just quickly: what are the limitations to continuously rasterize for regularly layers and comps?

I have a case where I have some shapes in AI that I imported into AE7. I ran a Motion Tile on them, but the quality was blurry when I zoomed in. I hit continuously rasterize and the Motion Tile effect doesnt display. Should I precomp?

Also, would this feature help if I wanted to pull off the famous ‘infinite zoom’?
