I just tried the entire process on our Linux system using the V9b2 code just released. There is a problem with the readme that may be causing your issue.
Step 3 of the “Update instructions for updating the DeckLink driver” has an error. It should read:
3. rpm -qa | grep desktopvideo | xargs rpm -e (Uninstall old RPM)
If this step was not done correctly, it would probably cause step 4 to fail.
So on step 3, replace DeckLink with desktopvideo (note it is ALL lowercaase) and run through the procedure again. Hopefully it will work better. Please let us know.

By default, Resolve will use the first Media Storage Volume that you have defined in the Resolve Preferences area, as the place to store stills. You can also see the Stills path by looking in the Resolve Config page, on the Settings tab, in the Resolve Working Folders area.
If you have a path defined that Resolve does not have permission to write to, you will see the issue you are reporting.
In Resolve Preferences, you appear to have your system hard drive root path defined as the first Media Storage Volume. You should not do that, as Resolve does not have permission to write to that path.
The best solution is to define a first Media Storage Volume in Resolve Preferences, that the Resolve app does have permission to write to.
Alternatively, on the Config page Setting tab, you can manually change the Gallery Stills path in the Working Folders area, to a path that Resolve can write to.

The Linux firmware updater command IS case sensitive. You have to type it like the readme shows:
BlackmagicFirmwareUpdater update
Did you type it that way? If not, try it, and hopefully it will update the firmware and solve the problem.
It’s also important that you do the “sudo su -” first, as described.

You can’t Export+ a currently loaded project. Perhaps that is your problem?

We are starting to get trouble reports from adventurous users who could not wait to install Mountain Lion.
I would strongly suggest before updating to Mountain Lion, that you Backup your Resolve database FIRST, using the Backup button in the Database Manager window accessed on the user login screen.
Also, AFTER you have updated to Mountain Lion, you should reinstall the Resolve 8.2.2 code. Resolve 8.2.2 is the only version recommended for use with Mountain Lion.

The price of the Resolve panels was in the $75K range before BMD bought DaVinci.

ProRes rendering is not supported in Windows Resolve.

If you had to upgrade the NVIDIA driver for some other app or device, the 296.10 driver is the latest one I’m sure should work. It should be OK to use that, if you need a newer driver than the 280.26 driver. I’m not sure the current 301.42 driver will work well with Resolve 8. It will probably work with Resolve 9 when it is released.
If you are recovering a previous project and all the clips look black on the Color page, that is almost CERTAINLY an issue of the clips no longer being where they were originally. You can verify this on the Browse page. If you can see other clips in the Browse page viewer Media Storage / Clips Details area, but not the clips that are in the Media Pool, then the clip paths in the Media Pool are pointing to an area that no longer contains the clips.
The only thing the Quicktime message MIGHT affect is seeing QT/ProRes type mov files. If you can’t see ANY of that type of files on the Browse page viewer, while selecting them in the Media Storage / Clip Details area, but you can see other file types like DPX or MXF files, then perhaps the Quicktime message might be affecting things.

That message comes up once in a while on Windows systems. Is it causing an actual issue for you?

Copying grades in Unmix mode will crash Resolve unless you are using 8.2.1 beta 3 or higher.
When this happens to you, are you in Unmix mode?
