  • Hey Tim,

In trying to answer your questions I accidentally resolved the issue. THANK YOU.

Turns out the problem was that the preview video files were rendered with iframe. I switched it to “Quicktime Desktop” and poof the problem was solved.

    Thanks again,

  • [Walter Soyka] “(But really, if you’re just sequencing frames at a regular rate, it’s much easier to deal with them as an image sequence.)

… as it is I am not just sequencing frames at a regular rate. I am also applying a master crop and individually applying a register.

I have restarted the program and started on a different image sequence. The prompt came up immediately, so I am out of the woods for now.

  • Thanks for responding Walter.

When I proceed as you advise with you 2nd suggestion, after I apply keyframe assistant> Sequence layers the sequence reverses order. This can be solved with a simple “Play in Reverse” later, but this will cost render time.

Is there any way to correct this?

    Thanks

I am sorry I feel like I have been non-discrpitive in my problem. I have 63,000 PSD’s (sourced from .tif) and I need to convert them to a video format which is the least destructive. PROress422 4:4:4 was going to be my goto, but it is still a compression and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t overlooking any options that might deliver a higher image/color quality.

    Best.

This are actual stills taken from celluloid film strips. Mac. Pro-res was my default, but it is still a compression none the less. I will loose some quality won’t I?

The final product will be a 35mm release print with 4K digital distro.

Motion Tracking is not applicable on this particular project. I wish it were.

I have considered using an image sequence, but the way I am working with the project now was suitable so I did not bother investing the time to see how the two differ. I assume you can apply attributes to the entire batch of images as a whole? If so are you still able to apply attributes to a single image an not the whole?
