No need. I tried it again and this time it took. But I’m sure you appreciate the opportunity I give you to take a refresher course ????
    Cheers, Tero!

I tried that but when I dragged the still to an uncorrected clip I’d get that red NOT ALLOWED!!! circle. If I want to keep the node structure I just click on a clip and then double click the clip that already has the corrections. If I can’t use the stills from one timeline or project to another what’s the point?

Thanks, guys. I seemed to remember during my “create a LUT in Photoshop” phase that there were certain settings that were not saved in the LUT, hence my confusion. Cheers!

Or expand the player to Cinema Mode, wait for the timeline indicator at the bottom of the screen to disappear, and do a “print screen”, then open photoshop, create new file, and paste it in.

This may sound stupid since I’m an amateur with just a fairly fast but not extraordinary PC, but is it possible a connection got loose or went bad on the drive holding the video with the glitches? Is the clean video on a different drive? If so, have you tried copying it to the same drive as the glitchy video to see if it also then becomes glitchy? Or vice versa?

Just a thought from a simple mind.

I did all of the optimization “tricks”. None of them worked. It was then that I decided to continue on with my post, and when I added the plugin, as I said, it came to a complete halt, and when I turned it off, I got full motion playback for the first time.

I can confirm, not that Ross needs it, that when you use those Vimeo or Youtube presets they compress the crap out of your file. I had a 6 gig file. I never use those presets but one time I thought I’d try the youtube preset, and it scrunched it down to like 400mbps, and it looked like crap.

ok, well, basically I’m going through yet another period where out of camera video with no correction added to it is sludging along at 1 fps. Now, for some reason, if I add Smart Reel Motion Blur, it bogs down completely, but if I leave it and just turn it off, I’m getting full motion, in this case 29.97fps. If I turn off the node I have it on, it still sludges along at 1fps. I only get smooth playback if I apply the plugin and turn it off.

    Weird, huh?

  • You know, Tero, I am truly shocked. You didn’t recommend reading the manual! While it’s not really helpful as far as how much blur to add, it does mention that motion blur is used to add blur when you’ve shot something in 30p and need to add some motion blur. One tutorial added 70 steps which I thought was harsh. I’ll stick with the 2.6 setting for now. It seems to give me a pleasant effect, again, assuming my eyes are not playing tricks on me.
