is it a trapcode plug-in that isn’t registered? that’ll do it …. the idea is that you play around with the plug-in, and then if you like it you pay for it and the lines are removed…

if that’s not it, give us some more info, like what effects it is etc etc

we use Auto Duck nearly everyday, I feel it is a really handy utility … It will link AE directly to the captured clips, so there is no re-compressing. It will replace your dissolves with opacity keyframes, scaling, position etc etc … I generally just use the motion effects as guides in FCP then re-do them in AE as I find it easier to use.

You will find some things don’t tranlsate so well with Auto Duck …. like text will come through in a different font … timewarping/reversing sometimes seem to comethrough differently … after a bit you will know which things need to be double checked…. sometimes it will interpret the footage incorrectly …. all easy fixes, just things to check..

you don’t need to finish in AE .. in fact, if you are working on anything long its probably better not too. . just do your effects shots in AE …. you just need to make sure you use a codec that is lossless … QT animation or such,,,,

    hope this helps …

after effects doesn’t work with 3D objects … cause it’s not a 3D program … you could possibly use a plug-in like zaxwerks to import and animate it .. but I’d imagine that you’d get a better result animating it in the true 3D program, 3D Max. Maybe animate what you need to in Studio Max then render out with an alpha channel and import into AE.

you mean like speeding up and slowing down footage??

you would want to use “time remapping” or “time stretch” or AE7 has a few more options for time ramping. If you have a bit of a search around the COW archives, google and the AE help files I’m sure there is some info and tutorials out there.

Give that a go and then if you have any more specific questions don’t hesitiate to ask!

    Cheers

i think if you search around on the web, and in the COW archives you will find loads of info about these ads. There is a “making of” online somewhere too –

you could do something “similar” in AE using AE’s tracking tools – but I’d say these ads use a more advanced 3D tracker, and most of the elements that are being composited would have been made inside a 3D program too.

have a search around, find some tutorials on tracking, and you’ll be on your way

  • do a bit of a search through the COW and you’ll find lots of information on RENDERING not EXPORTING!!!!

you need to use the RENDER QUEUE – don’t ever export unless you really really have to –

then you need to choose a file type, like quicktime or avi, and a codec, like DV or animation. There are some other options in there you need to decide on.

have a search around and if you are still stuck ask again

    Cheers

don’t forget to pre-comp the layer first . . . . effects like shatter and many others need to be pre-comped before you can apply time effects
