  • Making a layer play in reverse…

    Hello all,
I am new to After Affects, and currently using version 6.5 Pro.
I have a AVI clip on a layer, and I applied the Shatter effect to it. I would like to add a second layer and be able to REVERSE the shatter effect. When playing the final combined effect, the shatter occurs and then reverses, returning to the original status of the clip.

So, I guess my question is . . HOW DO YOU MAKE A LAYER PLAY IN REVERSE ??

    Many thank for your help.

There are several ways. Head up to the menu and select ‘Layer’ – ‘Time’ and choose which route you’d like to take. In your case I’d probably time remap for the greatest control over when the layer stops proceeding and starts reversing and the speed at which it does it.

don’t forget to pre-comp the layer first . . . . effects like shatter and many others need to be pre-comped before you can apply time effects
