Works flawlessly…in fact, I just finsihed cutting a short piece in FCP, sending a chunk of it’s video to AfterEffects, layed a Photoshop file over it with animation, rendered it back out to DV and dropped it back in my original FCP timeline all without issue. I just added the Adobe Master Collection to my aresenal this summer and I’m kicking myself for not doing it years ago. It’s really a great complement to FCStudio.

I’ve tried setting the project up every which way, and still no dice. Tried trashing the prefs too, my go too remedy that usually works. I’ll try it again just to see what happens. Jeremy, if you’re willing to check in the morning that’d be great. Thanks to both of you.

Yup…just exporting a batch list of a bin, 27 captured NTSC DV clips. Tried it exporting entire project, just a few clips, the whole bin, two bins at a time, right side up, upside down, it’s been like Green Eggs and Ham meets Batch Lists here for the last day or so. Can you replicate the problem on your machine? I’m on a 2.4 MBP, FCP 6.0.1, QT 7.1.6, OS X.4.10. Thanks again.

I remember this (XML export) being the popular work around during the 4.5 to 5 switch, and it worked fine. Obviously there are some things lost in the switch, but it sounds like you’ll be able to keep it to cuts only until you’re ready to finish on 6. It should work well.

Thanks Kevin. The only reason I’m breaking the cardinal rule of new software here is because I have no other projects going rights now and all I’m making is a simple photo montage that, if Motion and I don’t get along, I’m just going to make in Powerpoint. So, deffinetley strange circumstances, but I guess now I can be the guinea pig 🙂

Just out of curiosity Kevin, where are you (US? UK?) and when did you place your order? Just curious cause I ordered the same upgrade at the end of April on the East Coast of the US and it would just be nice to get it this week for a little project I have the following week that could benefit from the 3D in Motion. Not a deal breaker, but nice to know. Thanks in advance.

Does this type of thing exist for MPEG2? I do a lot of one-off DVD creation (mostly for perview and just showing stuff to friends, etc so quality is not of the utmost conern), and saving my processors from MPEG processing would be a huge help.
    Thanks in advance.

For the record I’ve been having this exact same problem for about 2 weeks now. Tried the usual reccomended remidies short of repairing permissions which I’ve never done before. I’ve been able to make do without them for now, but it’d be great to know wha the fix is or at the very least what general error 34 means.
    Thanks in advance…
