HI Malcolm, Angelo
I’m wanting to get back into doing editing with After effects and Adobe.
What would be a good medium level system to go with?
Any recommended mother boards I should know about? etcI wont be cranking out feature films – just like 30 to 60 second product placement adverts.
Please kick me off in the right direction.
thanks guys.

Hi
Just adding my 2 cents
– go with the rectangle and add a glow filter
You could try animate a mask over it if the doors is opening. And then just place a rectangle on the “floor” for the light spilling out from the doorway.
upload the finished effect.

HI There
Im running an iMac OSX 10.6.5
Processor: 3.06 GHz Intel core 2 Duo
Mem: 4GB DDR3Also getting out of memory messages.
Ive been working with still but have been nesting motion sequences in my timeline and not the stills themselves.
These messages happen when I try render in FCP and when I send the sequence straight to compressor. Thanks

Hi There
Finally rotated back to the land of the living.
Awsome Tutorial – Thanks for that.
It would be nice if there was a way to get the particles flare slightly as they hit the floor. But still a very cool look.I was wondering where you got all those extra filters from – it appeared as though you have more than I do.
Thanks again
Duane

HI Tim
Thats a cool clip.
Would a re timing behavior work – if there is such a thing.
I imagine you would need to re time a glow effect to happen as they hit the floor.
But I’m not sure how to target that “point in time if each particle is separate.
It looks like you got closer to the over all effect than I managed.Duane

HI guys
I’ve also been having issues with getting Ai files into Motion with out being pixelated.
I followed Stephen’s advice – but the graphics still aren’t smooth.
My peroxided question is – does the screen resolution matter?
Im working in a pal 720 by 576 composition.thanks.
