Since upgrading to 2.1.1 we have not had many export problems, but when we were using 6.1 things were different. I never had the version you are using, it could be something that’s fixed in later versions. Here’s our experience and solutions to export problems. We stopped using the “send to:” function and started doing and export QT movies (not reference), then using Procoder instead of Sorenson to compress. Works perfectly nearly every time. Then we go to Encore for DVD authoring. If you do not have Procoder, try the QT Movie to Sorenson directly and that usually works, although the compression isn’t as good.

I’ve had a similar problem and found that if I use a QT Movie instead of a Reverence it works better. Also, when making the QT Movie use custom settings of 720 x 480 (not 486) when going to DVD. That helps with the “Jump” you sometimes get in gfx supers. Sorenson doesn’t seem to like QT Reference, especially if there are many efx in the timeline. We have started using procoder for compression and it is much better. Hope this helps.

Try holding down the Alt (Oooops MAC) Option key while you drag the effect icon to the clip on the timeline.

We had a the same situation as maverick13’s on MCA v 12.0. I found when we used a QT movie instead of a reference it worked pretty well. Since moveing to Adrenaline we have been using QT reference with all effects rendered, to Sorenson, then to Encore and everything works great. Sometime’s using the “send to” function is a problem, but simply by exporting and then dropping into Sorenson for encoding there is no problem. Using VBR, 720 x 486. For what it’s worth…
