August 31, 2010 at 2:56 am in reply to: Red (422 Pro Res Proxy) @ 120fps conversion to 23.98 fpsso would create your original Pro Res Proxy at 120fps from RED Raw then drop into cinema tools?? or would (in my case) take the 23.98 quicktime into cinema tools to try it? Just trying to figure the best way to go about this since DIT converted all offline files at 23.98 Pro Res Proxy. Whether to go back re convert all needed files at 120fps quicktimes or use the current 23.98 quicktimes into AE and try and pull the frames.
thanks again

CORRECTION Footage is Apple Pro Res 422 23.98 1920×1080- not 10 bit , we were outputting form the Easy Settings from KONA as 10Bit to go to monitor

April 29, 2010 at 5:58 pm in reply to: Reconnecting media on FCP 7 – media is offline in sequence and bin, but won’t show up in reconnect browser?the wonderful quarks of fcp… yes this happens a lot. You will have to manually, one by one, locate each file in the reconnect. It sucks I know, but i don’t understand why FCP does this

One step ahead of you. I do this almost every day at lunch with the FCS Management Pack by Digital Rebellion. I even log in and log out the user to try and make it help. No difference. Thanks for still making suggestions.

You know it’s starting to look more and more like Final Cut Pro’s terrible Merged Clip Functionality. Our problem seems to happen a lot we we get heavy into trim mode. We are working with merged clips(audio from one source, Video from another). FCP has had major problems with Merged clips(matchframe, Crash on trimming, trim function acting strange) which I have brought up with Apple Engineers and they are suppose to be working on it.
Anyways our situation seems to happen a lot during heavy use of trim mode and we had a very similar problem with a Blackmagic Intensity Pro. It would crash very regularly in trim mode. reason why we switched to the AJA Kona Lhi. But it seems to be the common thing. It’s just a hunch of mine, for now on I will not be merging clips in FCP until they can make it stable like Autosync in AVID. Just going to have to take the time to Batch Export all merged clips to make them a self contained quicktime.

Use Compressor to make whatever files you want to make and edit with…. I would suggest Apple Pro res 422 HQ

well I know my luck wasn’t good enough. we got the flicker/screen image stutter to happen again..DAMN! it’s just so annoying. This is after I switched my Storage card to slot 2 and AJA Kona LHi to Slot 3. Jeremy I am now going to physically take out the memory like you said. All I can think now that it has to be something with FCP7 and the card. Again we even went back down to 10.5.8 to see if that would help… thanks jeremy for trying to help
