Ditto what Peter was saying. I found that feature the other night and went through the entire list of shortcuts…

unfortunately though, there’s not a search field – which was really nice in FCP (you’d think that this couldn’t be difficult to add into the software)

So — ProAnimator cannot be used as a plug in in AE? .. or are you just suggesting the workflow should go like your description… do all the animating in PA because you CAN’T use AE cameras very easily to do heavy animating… and THEN import your PA comp into AE for finishing touches and tweaks…

?? Am I understanding that correctly?

I ask because I’ve wanted to use AE’s cameras in the past with PA comp’s but it was extremely challenging. Sometimes I ended up with something that kind of went a different direction but usable. But I think I need someone to break down and explain just how cameras specifically work with PA in AE (I can never keep straight some of the things to keep in mind among the switches — i.e. … Flatten Transparency, the 3D switch is a No-no, except in a PreComp, but then … you must do this or this or that… ) etc

Well, after Uninstalling CS4 and CS5 Master Collections, running the CS5 Cleaner script, and re-installing CS4 and CS5, Premiere remembered what those file types were.

It was the last straw since Photoshop CS5 was bogging down the entire system, … then this… so…

Actually, Encore STILL won’t even open… hmm

Awesome news Paul. I had never heard of Clipwrap. I’ll look into that. (on versionttracker, it says you gotta have FCP on your machine… ?? Fine for me… but I have another friend in mind who is NOT a video pro and just needs something like this to work with his .mts files)

I’ll also do some testing… pulling over just a few .mts files and opening them in Premiere. (WITHOUT dragging the entire folder structure over – which I suppose FCP uses to make sense out of those files).

I transcoded just portions of my 6 GB worth of mts/AVCHD and wound up with a whopping 45 GBs or so! Geez! That was a little shell shock to say the least.

I’m sticking with/switching some to Premiere if I can help it – as long as it does take the clips natively (I got the learning curve ahead of me though)

Well, I’m using the CS5 Master Collection – Right now, it’s operating on trial mode until I dig up the code and finally input it… but it was installed from bona fide discs.

Now it’s my first time opening Premiere but I’m familiar with some of the After Effects parallels… so, I double clicked in the project window to import my footage. I navigate to the .mts files that I just copied over, but once selected, I get a “File Import Failure” window. Error Message: The file has an unsupported compression type.

I did go all out… 1080p/24 for this shoot. Probably prematurely, being so new to the Panasonic HMC150’s files that it creates… but … well, ya gotta jump in sometime 😉

I’m looking forward to the versatility. Granted, I’ll be using the other features and codecs …

but, I was simply wandering if the HMC150 could do that.

… so it sounds like the droplet technique in Compressor is what I’m looking at?

I have a Sony HC1 and can hook that to the FS-4 but I don’t like the idea of running around and capturing with that unit bumping around on my belt. There’s moving parts in there… can’t be good for it.
