Sorry, I don’t have a Kona board, so I’m not familiar with the specifics of the installed software. Their site does say that there is a control panel, so you might want to poke around in System Preferences (if it installed a prefs pane there) or do a search for ‘Kona’ on your system.

    Heya,

The system requirements didn’t change between version 1 and version 2, so if your system is incapable of running it now, it won’t matter which version you find.

Sonnet has a few different CPU upgrades available, and I’ve heard that people have managed to get Motion running with upgraded CPUs. I’d do a search of the Apple Motion discussion boards for more detail on that.

    Good luck!

    Heya,

Your crash looks to be the same one experienced by a number of people, after upgrading to 10.4.3. Your crash logs looks like you have a video capture card installed. If the desktop preview feature of the card is turned on (where the output of the card shows an additional Finder desktop area), Motion will crash when applying certain filters. I’ve heard this happens in Aperture, as well.

To avoid the crash, you only need to disable the desktop feature of your capture card (for BlackMagic, it’s in the System Preferences panel).

    Hope this helps!

    Hey Paul,

It sounds like you might be getting an offset from exceeding the max texture size of your card. You can probably compensate by using Fixed Resolution. If that’s the case, then this is one of those situations where you’d benefit by having a better understanding of what’s going on. There’s an article here (be sure to read both pages) that covers it:

    Good luck!

    Hey Chris,

Did you try unchecking the “Affect Objects” checkbox on the Throw? This will prevent it from individually affecting each character.

    Heya,

Silly question, but is your Canvas showing you the alpha channel (instead of color)? Press Shift+C to force the view to the color (RGB combined) mode. Does this alleviate the problem?

    Hey Winston,

The 9800 is now a two-generation-old card, but it still ain’t no pansy. It’s likely that your project or something system-related (besides your GPU) is causing the slowdown.

Any chance you can make the project available, sans footage? We can take a peek and see how it performs on a system other than yours, or possibly help you optimize it a bit.

    Good luck!

    Heya,

Like any object that has secondary input(s), just drag and drop. The Displace filter has an image well that you can drop any other object into, or you can use the shortcut, and just drag any other object in the Layers List into the Displace filter (in the Layers List) and it will automatically plug it in for you. This shortcut can be used with any filter or object that has a secondary input (filters, image masks, etc.)

    Heya Stussey,

There are a number of Distortion-category filters that take secondary inputs. The generic one, “Displace”, is probably what you’re looking for 🙂

    Heya,

The RSS Visualizer was created (I believe) using Quartz Composer, which gets installed with the Developer Tools. Any QC project can be saved out as a screen saver.
