I assume you are talking about my FCP settings right, not my Premiere Pro export settings? If so, we don’t want to have to “capture” the AVIs in FCP. We simply want to dump them in a folder, link to the folder and drop the AVIs on the timeline and then export to Digibeta. If we make sure that the FCP project and sequence settings are anamorphic can we get around having to recapture?

Thanks guys. H264 not much better but Motion JPEG not bad, file size just gets pretty big. But yeah, Adobe not great with QT in general. Actual did get Sorrensen to work decently when I increased size from 160 x 120 to 320 x 240.

Thanks. Good thoughts on the troubleshooting. The thing is that the DVD player and TV monitor that do not play our captions back well do play other captions on other discs back perfectly fine. So I would imagine that the player and/or TV monitor might simply be older and not handle Encore CC very well. I am beginning to chalk this up to Encore simply not being as strong as say Scenarist when it comes to authoring closed captions. More of a hit and miss with Encore than it would be with Scenarist or some other higher end authoring packages.

Only effect we are using is a dissolve transition between clips for the most part. So I don’t think it is the effect. We are rendering because with Cineform Aspect HD we do not see our transition until we have done a render preview. Otherwise we get a red X in the upper left hand corner at the transition point. So we need to render it.

    Thanks Steven,

Yes that is how we actually get the render to work. We set the work area bar for a smaller section of the timeline and it seems to work fine that way. So it isn’t a bad section on the timeline, as smaller renders work. So any other thoughts on why the full-length render does not work?

Just curious, if things were good with the M audio devise why are you not using it anymore? I would do a search and make sure there are no lingering files from the devise then unistall and reinstall 2.0 it’s worth a shot … If you would like a copy of 1.5, E-mail me at loganonestudio@aol.com and I will help you out … WILLIE

    Willie,

It is a hassle to set up. I have to plug it in, hook up the cables, etc. I just want toi quickly plug in a mic and record some basic tunes I write. If I do bigger sessions, it is fine, but I seldom do bigger sessions. Good idea on the search. I’ll do that and then un and re install and see what happens. If no solution, then we can chat about 1.5.

    Thanks so much,

    Doug

    Willy,

No, I do not have access to 1.5 and the sound blaster card won’t help as I am dealing with laptops. I guess I cdould try to install a soundcard via my PCMCIA slot and see if that works – thoughts?

The funny thing is that when I first installed 2.0, BEFORE I loaded M-Audio, I recall NOT having the latency issue with just going direct (not positive but I think it did work). So I thought if I uninstalled M-Audio it might come back, but it didn’t. However, now that I think about it, maybe now that M-Audio is uninstalled, I still have to re-install AA 2.0 – thoughts?
