hi Jeff
you need to use the following syntax
cmd /c “mkdir C:\Users\MYPC\Desktop\MY_FOLDER”
where the mkdir and the path to make the folder are in ” ” quotes
that should get the mkdir command working for you
to export logs:
click the view logs button and the export option is at the top on the right side of the menu bar
then please mail the logs to support@squarebox.com along with a description of the problem and a link to this thread
thank you Dougal

Hi Jan
The best tweak you can do to improve your Db performance is to put the Db on an SSD
As they can support multiple simultaneous read /write operations Db throughput is orders of magnitude faster than using spinning disks
( this is actually slowed down even further with most raid configs so multiple spinning disks = worse performance)
Bryson is spot on advising against customisation we very rarely need to change any mysql settings from the installed defaults and this only really happens for our larger users who have very large Db’s or specific custom CatDV enhancements
so our advice is to replace the disk in your catdv server with an SSD and then use the old disk for time machine / backups to give yourself resilience and peace of mind.
Also make sure you back up your Db regularly and enable housekeeping in the server control panel this will run every time you start the server and can also be run manually from the tools menu of the server control panel
Also see our guide to backing up catdv here https://www.squarebox.com/catdv-backups/ and keep an eye on the resiliance and houskeeping section of our tutorials pages for our guides on scripting and automating backups on pc /mac which will be published in the next week or so

February 25, 2014 at 6:09 pm in reply to: CatDV Archiving option metadata restricted?hi Scott
we are not currently able to support “option licensing” through the license server feature of the CatDV server control panel all options must be applied locally to an individual client using the additional license function of the licensing tool.
I have escalated this to the developers as a Feature Request for consideration for possible inclusion in future releases
thank you Dougal

hi
to burn in timecode one just needs to tick the “add timecode track” box see red box in screenshot below
the fixed text in the burn in text selection is for you to add additional metadata in the screenshot below
In this instance i’ve already added clip name ( green box ) and am appending aspect ratio ( yellow box) so i’ll get an overlay with something like “My Clip Name 16:9” burnt in as well as the timecodeYou can add in quite a lot of info limited mainly by the amount of screen space you have
you can also add a watermark by choosing a graphic such as a company logo or “internal use only”

hi Mark
we don’t support drag and drop with Adobe Premiere as we need to use some Adobe tools to send the information form catdv to premiere
there are a few steps to get this working
firstly in the catdv preferences under the export section you need to tell catdv which flavor of premiere your working with ( cs6 /cc ) as in the following screenshot
to actually send files to premiere click on a file or shift select a group of files and then right click and select export as and then send to premiere cc ( this will show the option you chose in the set above so if you’ve selected CS6 it will say “send to premiere CS6” )as in the following screenshot
the first time you try this you will be prompted to find the location of the “Adobe extendscript toolkit.app ( or .exe on windows) as in the following screenshot
this can be found
ï‚· In Windows: {Program Files}\Adobe\Adobe Utilities – CC\ExtendScript Toolkit
Cc.exe
ï‚· In Mac OS: In /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Utilities – CC/ExtendScript Toolkit
CC.app, once you’ve done this Catdv will send the selected items to premiere
next time you use export as >> send to premiere it will just work
i hope this helps you get send to premiere working
thank you Dougal
