1st Boris did contact me. Boris FX will not run on 64bit OS. But the New Blue is working fine.
    But I have another question.
When I use Newblue Chroma Key in Vegas and have the talent on one track and the backgraound Set on another track. Is there any way to link the tracks so that if I do a motion zoom in on the talent the back ground comes with it at the same ratio or proportion?

    Sir John
I never got an answer from Boris on why FX would not show up in my vegas 9, so I worked with the Newblue and the training on secondary color correction for keying the color ( not sure what its called but New Blue worked like a charm (had to shrink the matt) to get rid of white glow Thank U all for the help – New Blue owes you a commission!

I downloaded the NewBlue and it is much better than sony, but I have a glow or white edge around the subject that I dont seem to have the ability to get rid of with Newblue ( may be my lack of knowledge of Newblue)
I have not been able to get Boris FX to show up in my vegas. It seems to be asking where to put the plugins?
Boris support said to use this path,
    C:/ Program files> Sony> Vegas Pro> Video Plug-ins
I did, but still no boris FX in my sony?
    Any sugestions?

  • Rafael, thank You for input.
do you mean to change Sequence even though my footage is not in pro res?
Or do you mean to convert the file after it comes in through XDCam transfer as a EX1 1920×1080 MOV?
Should I then use compressor to change that mov to Pro Res?

  • Concerning the RT Slow Warning.
I put Two 1 TB Seagate 32mg cache 7200rpm drives internal and stripe/Raid them together. As posted I then downloaded the AJA drive tester and am geting about 200 +- Read and 200 +- write at 1GB file size 1920×1080 on this 2 Tb set up. Is that good?

If this is good I may just have to high expectations for my MAC Pro to ba able to view Realtime multiple effects with out rendering.

What I was doing is 3 layers of video. Top track 25% opacity Second track 50% opacity and lower track no effect. Then on top of that I put a lower third with a solid back and feathered edges in the crop setting and CAN NOT view it EVEN if I go to settings and put the bit rate to Quarter.

My back graund is with Vegas Pro 8/9 and you can stack a ton tracks and effects and it may get a little choppy but you can view it to see if you like it.

Is it the case with MAC you have to render every thing to simply view it, to see if you like the look?
Just trying to learn my way around the MAC way

  • What is an efficient editing Codec to convert my EX1 MP4 into? that would be efficient for my slower machine?
    or
will it work better if I buy (for example the G-Tech G-Raid) and use the E SATA port to a raid drive for efficient editing?

or mortgage the house and buy a newer faster MAC? 🙂

  • Is there a piece of hardware I can install to speed it up for effects and overall speed
