Hey Steve, where is the built in driver downloader located in Vegas? I would like to try that.

    Thanks!

  • I had this same problem last Friday with Magix Movie Studio Pro Platinum and Catalyst Browse after an install. They both would crash upon opening. I found this link to fix the problem and it worked. I hope it helps.

I seem to remember that the .wmv codec was not too happy about rendering in custom image sizes. We had problems with that at work. Did you try rendering the video in one of the preselected options? I would give that a try as a test. I know it won’t look the same as your custom settings but it might help you determine what is going on. If you want to create a custom image size you might have to pick a different codec. I hope this helps you.

  • I just tried exporting and importing a file using DNxHD 145 in Sony Vegas and it worked fine. I did have to go into the properties and enable the alpha channel. I did this by clicking on the configure button and turning on the alpha channel under the quicktime settings for Avid DNxHD 145. It is near the video format selection area. I hope this helps you.

What kind of quadcopter did you buy and what camera are you using? I am interested in doing this. — Don

I would also check to see if you have the Zoom set up for Line or Mic level in. If your wireless is using a mic level out into a line level in on the Zoom, this could be causing the problem. You would like to see either mic level out/ mic level in or line level out/ line level in. I hope this helps! — Don

I think you have one more option. I would have two video tracks. On the lower track I would add your 4:3 video and use the pan/crop tool to fill the entire 16:9 screen. Then I would add a blur to that track. Next i would add your same 4:3 video to the upper track. This presentation is used a lot in news broadcasts where they are showing SD video in a HD format. I think it works well!

Take a look at MPEG Streamclip. I use it quite a bit for AVCHD video. It is free and easy to use.
