We shoot all on-camera interviews in 24p with the SDX900. It makes it more interesting. I was watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition last season & they did the same, cut away from 60i (29.97) footage to on-camera interviews shot in 24p.
Reenactments work well with 24p. Do not shoot text in 24p, like the inside of a book. It will give you a headache.

Can’t answer your question but my experience with Avid is to leave it alone. When you have a box that works, don’t mess with it. Some people take it to the extreme & say no DVD burners, Photoshop, ECT. Adrenaline IS finicky. It’s kind of like customizing a Ferrari, why? Maybe with other apps you can push the limits & tweek but for Avid, leave it alone.

Figured it out. Didn’t realize I had to manually drag the supporting files into the omfi folder & then improt the file into Avid.

What about HD? I forgot to mention that I’m getting an HD deck in the next 60 days, maybe the AJ-HD1200A. The HD side of it will go staight into FCP. Could I use the I/O with Kona 2? Can I configure 1 system to do it all?

This will get internet access through an intranet of 300 or so users. The organization does get frequent attacks although their usually stopped by Novell’s firewall https://www.novell.com.

Does Final Cut need to be connected to the internet for updates? Can I download the updates to a PC & burn them to a disk?

Sapphire & Boris Continuum are must haves. In our suites, the editor also has to do audio sweetening. Avid’s audio FX are poor. We use Focusrite D2 & D3 for compression & EQ. It’s a little pricy but a whole lot faster than doing this in an outside application.
D2 & D3 will both plug into Adrenaline on XP with no problem. Symphony on Win 2000 will only accept D3, the compressor.
