Yes, I have also been using Compressor, but would prefer to have the worker node handle the audio file conversions automatically.

I have 10 workstations with CatDV Pro 10. Our producers and editors create catalogs from media on our edit SAN. The Worker node queries and queues video and audio files for proxy creation, which is working well for video,(video proxy creation is much faster with CatDV 10.)

I am still searching for the “formula” to create audio proxies through CatDV.

Hello Bryson,

I am using the worker node and a server query for my audio files.
The setting are: Quicktime Exporter, Movie Format AIFF, linear, stereo, 32KHz. Quality Normal and sample size 16.

I have tried AAC without success.

We have experienced similar problems when editing to tape via the firewire interface. Starting programs at 1:00:00:00 requires an 8 frame offset on our deck. In addition there are times when the editor and the tape machine do not communicate correctly. We have to set the editor for dv25 output, edit to tape, change the settings back to DV50 and then output the program.

There are times when we use the same work around when capturing video from DV25 and DV 50 tapes.

I have tried the animation and “none” settings and the QT file still renders with a black backgound. Viewing the composite window while playing down the timeline I see the checkerboard pattern. When the movie file is rendering the black background shows in the composite window during the render.
