Thanks Steve, I am playing on getting a new computer. Just wondering if I should get windows 8 or xp with windows 7? As I look at the situation. It looks as if I am going to have to upgrade everything I got. Its more than just going and buying a new computer.
    Thanks again

    >“Just out of curiosity, why are you converting the pics to .png? Unless you’re needing to keep a transparent alpha channel?”

Danny first of all thanks you for responding.
Just remember that you are dealing with a novice here. First of all I don’t know what a transparent alpha channel is let alone if I need it or not. Sorry.
As to why I am changing my pictures to png? I am now quoting Douglas Spotted Eagle in his book. Vegas Pro 8. Page 124. “For best results save sill images, graphics, or titles created outside of Vegas at 655×480/150dpi (NTSC). If you plan on zooming deeply into a photograph, consider doubling the resolution, or creating images a t 1310×960.” Files should be saved as portable network graphics (PNG) files for optimum use in Vegas.”
I understand I am using 1440×720 which my converted likes.
Too me you seem to advocate that I can use Jpeg pictures. I would like to use Jpeg pictures. Would I get the same results as png? If so what should the setting be for a picture (Jpeg) that is 3008X2000?
    Thanks
    Don
