October 14, 2006 at 3:35 am in reply to: Time to get a new Mac… any suggestions?

    Hi Howie,

Craigslist is a great place to look for used computers.

Because MAC has gone INTEL, you are taking a risk buying a used computer…

That being said, you can get amazing deals on used, dual processor G5s all over the internet.. They will seem LIGHTENING quick compared to what you are using now and they can be found for $1000-$2000

Rendering that took you hours will only take minutes.

Plus, all your old software will continue to work on a G5 Powermac.. you will have to update($$) FCP if you buy a new computer…

BUT, if money is no object.. go for the gusto and get a new INTEL MAC.

    cheers

October 14, 2006 at 3:30 am in reply to: Insert: Moving clips within the time line sequece

normaly when I move clips within the sequence:

I grab them from the time line and drop then in the “insert” in the canvas. The clip then lands back in the sequence wherever the scrubber is… follow me….

BUT when the clip I am moving has more than 2 audio tracks, the audio tracks get placed one right next to each other (linear) as opposed to being verticaly. How can I fix this?

    cheers

    The animation codec??? in FCP?

Where are the rendering option in Motion 2 ?

I am pretty sure the adjustment needs to be made in MOTION.. I am exporting something WRONG…
I have set all the background settings to transparent.. but it the back ground still comes out BLACK..

As a temperary fix, I have put a white MATTE behind my transition (in motion) and then used the “Multiply” composites (in FCP) …. everything white vanishes..

It is not perfect but very close..

I really appreciate your response and help.
