Problem found: in the player settngs where you chose Adobe…Blackmagic etc, you have a button ‘Setup’. If this button is set to ‘Follow Sequence’, it will put the source player in NTSC mode regardless of what your sequence is set to. If you always work in the same format then it would be wise to set this option to the working format. In my case we change formats several times during the day.

I have both Aja Kona and Blackmagic cards installed in Macs with Premiere and FCP on both machines. I find it most convenient to use the AJA or BM capture application (both free) to capture to almost any codec I desire. Media Express comes with the BM software and works only when BM hardware is installed.

I think this is a basic functionality that is missing. The advantage of working with image sequences is that you can easily redo a couple frames or seconds instead of the whole Quicktime. In Shake and Baselight, I do this most of the time.

Is the problem on the export side or on the import (Baselight) side?
I have done many edl imports to Baselight and you can adjust where it takes the information from. I guess it must be on the export side. Are you using CMX3600 edl? -
I wanted a foolproof way of making proxies that anyone could do (presets, mouse drag and drop, etc)

I want to quickly find the beginning and end of programs in a 3-4 hour long H264 PAL file and then export it to a database, keeping the original timecode with a short description. Markers seem to be a logical step to solve this problem, there may be better ways. Need to do several hundreds per week so automation is welcome.
