or maybe I should film the “villian” in front of g green screen thenuse the footage with the “Hero” as the background?-That way the background won’t grow with him…
That would look cheesy though because it wont look like he’s actually standing on the ground.
Isn’t there a way to just single out a specific object in the shot and manipulate it without affecting the whole scene?

Thanks! I’m sure the Project Manager will pay for them. He already put out a pretty penny for ALEX (avid tutorial). This is a brand new studio for a large education company. They decided to start using broadcast to deliver educational shows and PSA’s and spent tons of money on the new studio and latest equipment. I guess they want to see how well it goes before they fund more employees for this department but I think they made a mistake in hiring only one Senoir Producer and one part time assistant/intern (me).
We have a PM but he isn’t specialized in broadcast or editing or even using the camera.
So basically there are three of us running the studio with only one having any exceptional experience (Senoir producer has 13 years-worked with alot of news stations before), one still in school(me), and one just managing all the projects (PM).

They shoud have hired at least one other full time person because now they are used to the senoir’s excellent work but shes gone having a baby and they are stuck with the intern! Ha! Ha!
Well, the best thing I can do is start cramming-I can’t learn too much when Im only working 4 hours a day then at school full time but I’v already spent 3 hours on Creative cow and video co-pilot.net today. Andrew Kramer has some nice tutorials there. I saw one just now thats supposed to teach the basics of AE. I’ll try that one tomorrow but for now, I gotta go-I have class in an hour.

Thanks for your help! Help from anywhere at this point is appreciated!

August 28, 2007 at 1:25 pm in reply to: HELP PLEASE! Unable to hear audio in monitor.

No, I don’t think the OP is crazy…I have the same problem. On my computer at home, sometimes I don’t hear any audio on footage I have captured into APP7 -sometimes if I restart the program later and start a new project and import the footage into it-I hear the audio. Its just weird!
I think it has something to do with the sound card. I just set up my new HP media center and its sound card (realtek) also conflicts with my other program (Avid MC). When I boot up Avid MC, it gives a “Failed to initialize audio” error and shuts down. I don’t have this problem when I switch back to my old computer (Sony Viao) or on the computers here at work so I’m thinking its the sound card. When I scrape up the $, I’m going to get a decent external card and see if that fixes the audio problems Im having using my NLE’s on the HP Media Center.

I don’t know if that’s the case with yours or not but maybe someone who knows about sound cards could answer that.
