Tom, first I want to thank you very much for your help, but I don’t think we’re on the same page.
That pre-comp that holds the replaceable media is supposed to be an adjustment layer and that matte is there to make the adjustment layer only affect the layer beneath inside that matte area (inside blue stroke).
If you add an image/video beneath it all you’ll see how the animation works.
I only left the adjustment layer toggle on for you to see how it all works. When exporting the MOGRT I’ll toggle it off so that it only works as a normal replaceable media placeholder, where in Pr you’ll replace with an adjustment layer (which I thought it would do the trick – but not).
I don’t mean to sound rude but I work with AE for over 10 years so I know how layer order works.
If you export the MOGRT (with the adjustment layer toggle off) you’ll see that nothing happens on Pr, even if you replace the media on Pr with an adjustment layer, although the effects on that replacement media layer do carrie over to Pr on the MOGRT.
Please let me know if you find a solution for this but I’m starting to think there’s no way to do what I need for now.
    Thank you again!

    Tom,
What I’m trying to do is what I show on that video on my reply to you.
Here’s the AE project for you to check.
Thank you very much for taking a look at this!

Yes Roland, that’s why I changed my approach by putting an image inside a pre-comp so that I could the replace it with an adjustment layer on Pr that could kept the same effects/transform animations but with no luck 😔

    Hi Tom!
What I’m trying to do is use that .mgrt to scale the video on the layer underneath as an adjustment layer usually does.
By exporting the .mgrt with the adjustment layer it didn’t work so I used the Replacement Media feature to replace the media with all of the effects/transformation animations with an adjustment layer on Pr which also didn’t work.
I attached a video showing the animation as I just noticed another button where to attach a file 😑

Have you tried Collect Files? If it works at least you’ll have a backup so you can restart AE or the machine .

If you use adio Waves you can set “Parameteres are set at” to “Birth” each new wave will take the shape of the current mask shape at that time. If you set it to “Each Frame” the wave shape will change every frame to the shape of the mask shape. So you only have to change the mask shape over time to make the waves change accordingly.
In your case I think Track Mask is a good option.

  • Someone may be able to better explain this but in my experience, diferent video players will give you slight different color.
This has been a loooooong discussion all over the internet.

I belive that there’s nothing you could do. If you set your project to don’t mannage color profiles and you use the right colors, then I think that’s it :/

Your composition viewer is set to 4 views, just change it to 1 view on that buttom at the bottom right that reads “4 views”

  • It’s all working as intended now.

    Thank you very much Dan!

    Cheers!
