Yeah this forum has seemed to move on from the “debate” not near the heated discussions from former FCP legacy users as there use to be.

More than likely based on Apple’s trend, it will be a “pro” workstation with all the performance but without a disc drive or PCI expansion making it much smaller but still a work horse. Maybe with the ability to expand the graphics card though. WIth several vendors finally coming out with TB expansion bays I would not be surprised if this is the case. They are just waiting for the market to catch up.

Yes because we need to display a website or live video from a website through our SDI switcher.

The ProMax One looks like a beast of a workstation but one major flaw with it I see. WINDOWS! Sorry but Apple hasn’t ticked me off that badly yet for me to change over.

[Tim Wilson] “The thing that amazed me about that comparison: a Mac Pro has FOUR slots for memory, the ProMAX ONE has SIXTEEN slots. Running with memory in the same neighborhood as the Mac was like fighting with, uhm, three hands tied behind its back.”

Actually the Mac Pro has 8 slots depending on single chip or dual chip.

My theory is if they were going to kill it they would have done so already, I would imagine that there will be a newly redesigned machine released during WWDC. Possibly one that can be rack mountable and serve as a desktop or server.
