The first article is about a consumer based disc that is due out in 2015 to replace Blu-Ray, the archival disc system that is currently out is probably the pro version, based on similar standards and was released a couple of months ago. XDCAM SD came out years before blu-ray was released, looks like something similar is happening here but with archive.
The Mac Mini needs to be a lot less expensive to make a good sell point, might as well buy the bottom of the line iMac. I’ve heard they make a decent Metadata controller though.
This is just a negotiation ploy to get a better deal from Intel. I don’t buy it, Apple is selling more Macs than ever to new users based on they can install and run Windows programs on them. My bosses who made fun of me for years for being a “Mac guy” bought their first Macs this year since they can install Parralles on them and run there PC software.
