Are the CC effects included in the Prodction Studio package?

If so, is it a seperate installation like Keylight is?

You’re Making lots of sense Adolfo, u read my Q accurately and gave me a great answer!

How about the Fast Previews button at the bottom of my Composition Monitor… what settings for Open GL, and adaptive resolution should I be using and why? Fast Previews Preferences… what should I have?

I’ve just been using the defaults that came with my AE7.

    Any pointers are appreciated!

    RoRK,

You’re absolutely right, I do need a much better understanding of CODECS and compression types. I have been always just exporting with no compression. Sounds like for many of my purposes, exporting using the DV compression settings would be best. It doesn’t seem to be rendering any faster, but at least I get more managable file sizes.

And for my workflow, when I use PPro and AE together, I do often import AE comps onto my PPro timeline, and vice versa. However sometimes I hesitate to do this because if I’m going thru multiple exports (drafts) for client approval/revisions, its much slower to export if I havn’t pre-rendered my AE work and imported it as as footage.

Thank u for your easy to understand feedback

Disk Space is not a concern… frankly I was just confused as to why/how DV footage from Premiere (whether straight from Digitizing, or an export from a timeline) is a convenient file size, while a seemingly identical file format export from AE is like 10 times larger.

    I still don’t understand that.

I work in an environment where sometimes I need to create pieces in AE, then transfer them across our network, or to clients, etc. Also sometimes what I’m making in AE is for a webvideo (https://www.bconvideo.com/vancouver_katereen_events.html) and I don’t need a high quality 3GB file (and the long render time that comes with it).

Other times I’m working on videos for TV or even Broadcast and I want the highest quality.

Just tryin to understand my options and why things are the way they are.

Thank u all for your input!

    Great,

Thank you for your detailed pointers! They’ve given me something to work from. It looks like I might be able to save some of this footage that I was almost ready to give up on.

    Thanks so much!

I’ve said it many times before, but this CC is the best place on the web!

    Yep,

I have that plug-in.. Do u know of any on-line tutorials on using the Remove Grain plugin effectively?

There seems to be a lot of options and variables to set… Sampling, temporal filtering, ect, etc.. I could use some guidance on understanding what all of these do.

    Thanks,
