Spinning Soccer Ball?
Posted by Derek Hader on September 25, 2006 at 8:16 pmHello,
Any one have any pointers as to how I can create the illusion of a spinning soccer ball? I’d like to create the effect of a ball, either rolling or spinning. so that the patches of the ball are revealed as the ball turns.
I’m fairly comfortable with AE. But I can’t figure this one out… I know it would make more sense to create this in a 3D program.. but my resources are limited. How can I do this in AE?
Thanks,
Skeets

September 25, 2006 at 8:24 pmuse CC SPHERE in the production bundle. (under PERSPECTIVE)
If you want to make it all 3d, just use some expressions to rotate the ball with the camera.Nicholas Toth

September 25, 2006 at 8:54 pmAre the CC effects included in the Prodction Studio package?
If so, is it a seperate installation like Keylight is?

September 26, 2006 at 12:27 am1. Buy the Zaxwerks Invigorator 3D plug-in here.
2. Learn the basics, of course.
3. Download your soccer ball here. That’s it!

September 26, 2006 at 12:52 amIf you buy the Invigorator plug, then you can also purchase high quality 3d models, such as a soccer ball from CreativeCow leader Serge Hamad.
I do not know the invigorator very well at all, but I reviewed these models and was able to get a very realistic soccer ball in seconds using the models. It also comes with a basketball, football and a whole slew of other objects.
