Dave and Joe,
I have seen a wide range of reactions. From management dictating what will happen to where the editors are really making the decision. My experience tells me that when both management and creatives are talking together and sharing their needs, the best decision gets made.
As the guy who many times gets the privilege of working with both management and creative, I find that working with both allows me the ability to show how an Adobe solution would work best in their environment (or not.)

Yes there is another way.
Go to Window> and then select whatever panel you want to integrate into the current workspace.
As for workspaces going over to CS6, I don’t think they will, but they are obviously very easy to recreate.

Da Vinci is fine! I’m cool with it and we want to make sure XML exchange stays robust between the applications.
Unless, I’m mistaken on which app you’re alluding to.

I can’t imagine topping out the potential of this card in the near term with Premiere Pro. The Quadro 4000 is a sweet card, but this one seems unstoppable. Plus, Alex is correct – power usage is a big deal and also an indicator of how well designed it is.
Also, we don’t support multiple cards for GPU acceleration. I doubt you’d be able to add that much potential GPU anyway, so one card will go a long ways! Who needs 8 potential monitors on a system anyway?!?!
Can’t wait to get one (for PC in my case) to play with!

Right now, the best way to log temporal markers for in real time is via Prelude which is a product designed for logging. I agree that accessing a temporal marker in Premiere Pro is unwieldy and I hope we make it easier in the future.

[Michael Sanders] “Also as I said I’m sure AP is pretty much PC based so that reduces the choice…”
They are primarily Mac based in the US at least. I can’t comment on other geos.

And indeed they looked at the options out there and carefully chose Premiere Pro. That’s the point.
And while they do a lot of cuts type editing, it isn’t as simple as all that and of course there are different products that they create many of which involve a fair amount of graphics and edits.

Hi there,
You cannot export XDCAM as a .mov unless you are a) on a Mac b) have FCP or similar loaded onto the system. If you’re on Windows, I can’t think of anything off the top of my head.
Happy Labor Day,

August 25, 2012 at 11:24 am in reply to: CS6 Premiere creating multiple copies of .R3D clips and making up file names!Try using the Media Browser in Premiere Pro instead. It specifically helps with things like clip spanning and might be the issue you’re dealing with. It also helps keep projects tidy because media isn’t added to the project until you take it to the timeline or project panels.
For all digital file based media, I recommend using the media browser.

Keith – thanks for the input!
This is a good opportunity for me top mention our feature request link: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
We actively tabulate and look at these requests, so they don’t fall into an Internet black hole!
Additionally, you can take a preset and modify it to suit your audio needs and then save it as a custom preset.
As for 720×480 vs. 486 – 480 is the correct one: https://www.adamwilt.com/DV-tech.html
As is our aspect ratio .9091 vs. .90 (4×3) & 1.2121 (16×9)
Thanks,
