Thanks Alan. When I right click in Select mode, both Delete and Move Point are grayed out – can you tell me why that would be?
Thanks,

Thanks Alan. The project is for a pitch I am doing for a 4 minute public screen project and my plan is to create a 900 frame piece in PI then time stretch it in FCP, so it wouldn;t work to break it up into any smaller parts. I do need the some of the emitters to run over the entire 900 frames. The PI project uses multiple instances of Light Trans 03, some starting right at frame 1 and some not entering until much later in the project. It is a Point emitter and I haven’t altered that.
Is there any way to avoid recalulating all the emitters near the end of the range? Something like the “freeze” feature of the particle generator in Cinema 4D (if you happen to know it)? Sounds like that is what’s killing the workflow.
Any other thoughts?

Nice article. Can you address the benefits/best practices of having auto-focus and other new enhancements coming with the Nikon D7000 and others? I have used a Sony 550CX for “candid” travel video shooting but I no longer have the cam. I need a still backup for my D700 and was thinking the D7000 would do double duty moving forward, so I wouldn’t buy another camcorder.
Thoughts on that?
Best.

Thanks to all for the help. I was able to get it working by splitting out the audio file from the AVI as a WAV file as suggested. But I never let DVD-A convert my WAV files to AC3 because it has so few options/settings (though 5.0 is better than previous version). Instead, I use Vegas to make the AC3 file without any attenuation, then load that as the audio file.
Thanks again for the help.
Best.

Well what I have is a cube with 10 segments x,y, z – I make the cube editable, then select a small portion on the front face of the cube, then when I grab the Poly tool, I can extrude that portion of the cube left or right. But I want that to happen over, say 90 frames. I tried pressing the Record PLA / Active Objects at 0, advancing to frame 90 and using the tool to move some stuff, then pressing th Record button again. But that isn;t the trick, obviously.
So can you tell me the correct steps? Must be missing something. Basically, I would like to “shear off” the front face of a cube over time.
Thanks much.

Well that’s where I am hung up – I am in View 4 and have just inserted a camera into the scene and selected the camera in the Cameras/Scene Camera dialog. But how do I set the camera as the active camera for rendering? With my current setting, I still see View when I render to the picture viewer.
Thanks,
D.
