    Hello Everyone!

I’ve been doing video for quite some time now, but not with a DSLR Camera. I know functions and technical aspects (light metering, shutter speed, ISO, etc etc), but I’m still unsure of the cameras abilities (for a 5d Mark II or something similar to). Are there any links or “intro to” on here or other sites? I know i could google a “google” of different sites, but I’m looking for ones from people I know from here that would know for sure what would be best.
Any ideas, link, personal info, ANYTHING would be awesomely appreciated 🙂

Check out: Philipbloom.net, buy a DVD from F-Stop Academy or take the CreativeLive course from Vincent Laforet.

If you feel you’re ready, rent a rig for a day and start trying things out.

    Good luck.

Good links mentioned above. I also found this guide useful –

    https://photography.bhinsights.com/content/announcing-bh-interactive-hdslr-guide.html

It’s a bit gear-centric, but it has a good overview of the process.

    Good luck!

Nice article. Can you address the benefits/best practices of having auto-focus and other new enhancements coming with the Nikon D7000 and others? I have used a Sony 550CX for “candid” travel video shooting but I no longer have the cam. I need a still backup for my D700 and was thinking the D7000 would do double duty moving forward, so I wouldn’t buy another camcorder.
    Thoughts on that?
    Best.

A really comprehensive, well written ebook.

I was pretty impressed with a lot of the content Vincent Laforet shared in his creativeLIVE HDDSLR Cinema course – an entire 3 days of live sessions, phew. There’s a few free blurbs you can watch still up https://creativelive.com/courses/vince_laforet/. I consider all this training to be of great value for what they’re askin’.
