Michael – did you ever find answer to this? Have just run into same problem. Dropping clips onto the timeline but the audio and video is not linked. So we have to select both audio and video each time we move a clip. Aggravating.
    Thanks

October 4, 2012 at 3:23 pm in reply to: Final Cut codec for quicktime?

I have a new Mac Pro with no Final Cut installed… yet. But I would like to be able to view the videos produced by Final Cut Studio 2 in my old Dual G5 – on the new Mac Pro. They play in Quick Time Player version 10 x, but have a black screen when played in QuickTime Pro – which is where I need to play them. Drop them onto MPEG Streamclip and I also get a black screen.

At one point a page opened taking me to Apple’s component page, saying I need a plug-in. But I’m not sure which one – In addition to CC, the page shows DivX, Xvid and ZyC.

Any thoughts are helpful. I’m running 10.7.3 on the Mac Pro at present. Thanks!

September 26, 2012 at 2:09 pm in reply to: Final Cut Studio 2 Mountain Lion 10.8 Install

Anne – And anyone else who knows – How is Final Cut Studio 2 working with Mountain Lion? I’m about to purchase a Mac Pro and am trying to be reasonably certain I can get Studio 2 installed on the OS. The tower has a disk drive so that should not be an issue – just wondering how the software is working.

    Any hitches?
Which Mountain Lion are you running (I’m not sure how many there are at this writing)

    Thanks very much!

Randy – (and anyone else who knows) – Looks like you’ve been using FCP 6.06 on Lion – How’s it working out? And have you upgraded to Mountain Lion – and how’s that working? What about the rest of the Studio suite?
    Thanks

Aha! Thank you – And – anything faster than a straight export from FCP in the Pro Res sequence? (Such as via QT Conversion)

And in my next system – would any kind of hardware help?

He’s created a new word “wayzensew” You might try searching the rest of the track – or the original session- for the same word or a substitute word that ends a sentence with the correct inflection… or a complete phrase that could be reused in this context without changing the meaning.

First – if you haven’t already – try slicing the audio right after z sound but curving the volume down, maybe just ahead of the z – to get a smoother cut.

Hi Shane – as far as I know. I hit Sequence>Render All and lots of checked things show up – then it renders for awhile, then it’s done and plays back. … Hmmm.

Just noticed “Full” was not checked – so I checked it and hit Render All again – it now says it’s “Conforming MPEG-2 Video…” and that the estimated time is 5 hours.

I’ve never checked “Full” before… should I be doing this?

Back to my original problem – at present just looking for a quicker method to export intermediate review copies.

BTW – I hit “unsubscribe” by mistake – can you re-subscribe me or is that something I can do?

    thanks-Dennis (dennis@deangroup.com)
