When you finish, tell how well it worked and what steps you took to do it. That’ll help people doing future searches about this same type of topic.

I cheated on a whim with this one. I didn’t have time after work to mess with it and was frustrated enough that I did something dumb/genius instead.
Since I was working with a tif sequence of 1440×1080 files and I think the immense size of the project was causing the problem I set up a Photoshop script to convert the frame size down to 720×480. I set it to convert the whole tif file sequence and left for work this morning. When I got back all was Peachy. I am 68% through my final AE render now (after some tricks). All color issues I had already taken care of in PP2 (though I wouldn’t have done that normally, just this project has been causing issues for a while for me). This final render is an output module of a master and another output module for the m2v. Finally I can move on.I would not recommend this conversion process to anyone as it is time consuming; however, it does let you bump the bit rate if you want. I did.

It’s not pimping when it’s honest work. Besides, free “copy and paste” is a far cry from “five-dolla make you holla”… ☻

that’s why the beta was primarily meant as a test bed.

If you (the “urban” I’m-twelve-years-old-and-live-in-suburbia kid) want to be ridiculous, then go chat in the CoWmedy section.

I’ve found working with various formats that the file size itself, not the dimensions changed with the dpi. I suggested using a lower dpi than 300 as I assumed his system might be experiencing minor ram issues when dealing with the larger dpi qualities. I, too, never really use anything above the generic 72, but imported digital camera pictures come in at 320dpi or so and some people forget to scale it down.
[“10,000 x 768 is a really huge image. It seems that you’re unsure how large you need your background to be.”
Not necessarily, He’s animating a scrolling background in 2D, it sounded like. If he needs room for moving it about, it’d have to be at least that long to cover the time allotment.]

Thanks for the response, I’ll try it out tonight when I get back from work. I really think this is only happening due to the length of the clip. 20:01.01 seems a tad taxing on the AE render system. I’ve never had such issues before.

Never listen to anyone telling you that the carry-on you brought (which passed on previous flights) has to be checked (not gate checked, but checked) particularly if you’re in Amsterdam.
My sister had her equipment stolen with this scam. In a Pelican 1510; It was “flagged” by a random security guy as to big for any carry-on (though every plane up until that point had no problem with it), and she was forced to check it and unlock it for “security reasons”. When she got into Africa her luggage all arrived safely, but the case had been opened and the camera/etc.. was stolen. We Reported it stolen, but international issues, etc… I don’t expect any return.

I assume you’re using openGL.
Is adaptive resolution turned on? If so try lowering the degree of quality for it to, like, 1/8th or so. It may help with those moves. You may also want to create a proxie for your file to use while figuring out the details of the animation.
10000×800 isn’t really that big, but if you have the dpi up in the 300-600 range you’ll experience some hardcore processing time on any machine. Try using a low dpi version of the same file to edit with, then replace it right before rendering.
good luck
