I’m ready to install CS3 (Photoshop, Illustrator) but Im still using After Effects beta until the full CS3 version comes out. So the problem is Adobe says to uninstall all CS3-Beta apps but I cant stop working on my After Effects Beta files which are not compatible with older versions.

Can I still use After Effects-Beta with CS3, or am I screwed?

Is there anything else I can do or just wait until July?

According to Adobe project files created in the beta will open in the final release version of AE CS3.

that’s why the beta was primarily meant as a test bed.

Man I wish I was smarter to think this whole Beta nightmare through before I started using it (but I was anxious to have adobe apps stop crashing on my Mactel) . Well I guess its my fault but this is still ridiculous.

Guys: Please be aware that the AE CS3 Public Preview is not a beta. In fact, you won’t find the word “beta” in the Adobe Labs page for AE CS3. It is prerelease, of course. But It’s 95 per cent (arbitrary figure) the final product, minus some third party encoders and effects that could not be included for licensing reasons. It’s safe to assume that an application that will ship so soon is not really in the middle of the testing process and that most bugs have been worked out already 🙂
I believe that, with some minor exceptions, it’s ready to handle production tasks. Especially the second build (posted on May 16th).

The AE CS3 bet… I mean, Public Preview is fully compatible with release versions of CS3 applications and suites, but not with the older CS3 betas, like the Photoshop and Soundbooth previews.
