so you are using the dv bridge to convert the DBC to DV for import into FCP.. and controlling the VTR Via rs422 with the keyspan conected to the VTR. Im not familiar with the keyspan. but i can say that DV footage ONLY has Dropframe timecode embedded in the dv stream(DVCAM can have either DF or NDF). The keyspan may just be passing the rs422 TC though, but your dv bridge i’d bet is embedding a rolling DF code down the Firewire which might be confusing FCP. Can you connect the vtr to the canopus dv box and have it embed the vtrs TC? Does non controlled capture work in fcp?

you are going to have to select each 60i clip in your seq and apply a deinterlace filter to it. is your time line at 60i or 23,98?

i just did some tests and now for some reason my prorez gamma export is funky across both 422 and rgb colorspaces. I’d trust animation for now.

sounds like a gamma issue. export color bars from FCP as reference in both codecs, then monitor them via FCP in the video scopes compared to the original generator to see which one is not so truthful..

Squeeze will make flv’s but thats about it. Now Flash is the way to go for interactive sites, its very powerful..

progressive sd mpegs are legal as long as they are 23.98(the player adds the pulldown). if they are 30p or 60p they wont work. But finding the pull down after the fact that your reel is edited may just be impossible (if there even is a pulldown to find). an easy fix would be to just blur or deinterlace your 60i footage, your text should be clean if you just do the footage..

that shouldn’t happen!! bm stuff is cheap because they lack any and all engineering support!! my sugestion is BUY AN AJA!! AJA is a real product with real support, the only thing bm has on them is VANC..

i moved my bm card from a older mac 10.4.11 (never had problems) to a new 8core macpro and about every week i have to reinstall the bm decklink drivers because of a similiar issue(no i/o out of the card) i think its just a leapord 10.5 thing. but no worries im sure bm will get around to fixing it in a year or so..
