Try Effects>Video Filters>Matte>Four-Point Garbage Matte. Add to each layer of video.
On one, change the point 1 data to be 0 & 0. On the other, change point 3 to be 0 & 0.
If memory serves, the point 1 data change will mask off the top and left portion, and the point 3 will mask off the bottom and right portion.

CMYK is a print format, and doesn’t translate into video.

Select your sequence with the 44.1 track in it.
Hit CMD+0 (zero)
Change the audio sample rate to 44.1.
You should no longer have to render.
You shouldn’t have distortion problems unless there’s something more going on that hasn’t been addressed.

Hmmm, that’s very interesting, Rich.
My husband hasn’t had any issues with clinics or pharmacies not recognizing his insurance card, but then again, he’s been to the doctor twice in 5 years, and I’m pretty certain he’s never had a prescription since he started with Assurant.
He’s never gotten close to hitting his deductible, so we’ve never added it up. Perhaps it’s time to comparison shop again…

14 GB is probably too low for free space, unless your media drives are 120 GB or less in size.
General rule is that you need to leave at least 10%, and preferably 20% of hard drive space free for headroom & file swapping.
Try cleaning out some old render files or something, and see of you can get the free space on the drives up to at least 10%.
If they are smaller drives, how big has your project getting? You might want to break it up into a couple smaller projects. Large project files can also be taxing.
Post back if either of these doesn’t help!

It’s a two-step process to get there.
Under Settings>New Default Settings, choose QuickTime Export Components.
Then in the Inspector, the file format drop down should change to QuickTime Export Components. If it doesn’t change it there as well.
Then the Encoder Type drop down in the Inspector will have AVI as an option, with the AVI Options button active.

Except that my wheeled case is used to also carry my DSR-45 when I travel. I usually do not have the room to pack another monitor. However, it is an interesting idea.
I still stand by my purchase. For the way I like to work, my 17″ been nothing but a pleasure to use. The fewer things I have to lug around, the better.
I know of a guy who takes his iMac G5 on the road. He seems to have much more of a hassle than I do with my laptop, even though he has the wireless keyboard and mouse. This is just my perception. He may think the same thing about my setup.

I am truly sorry to have irritated and yet somehow soothed your pet peeves all in one fell swoop. It seems that few correct themselves. I feel that it should occasionally be shown that people DO proofread their posts and DO correct themselves, as an example to those who think they should just hammer out whatever comes rattling out of their brains and take no heed of whether or not it’s readable or understandable. Everyone who makes a typo is NOT going to hop on my bandwagon and correct themselves, but if a handful start proofreading their posts, then I feel this improves the community, and is not a waste of bandwidth.
I have certainly let a few of my errors go. This one sat wrong with me. It reads horribly, and “you” instead of “your” is one of MY pet peeves, even though it’s usually a typo and not poor grammar. Personally, I would like to have the ability to edit my posts here on the COW, like I do on virtually all other fora in which I participate.
