Yea, I see where you are coming from. Buyers remorse is a terrible thing. Although, I don’t think you would be disappointed with the 60D as I have used it for many professional productions. Unless, of course you always shoot in environments with lots of water, sand & dust…You will also save around $700 you can put towards some good glass.

I forgot to mention you have manual audio control on the 60D as well. This has been extremely beneficial and another perk over the 7D.

Good luck choosing. Let us know what you end up purchasing and how you like it.

If you are considering the 7D I would go back and look at the 60D again. I have both cameras and I can tell you 95% of the time I take the 60D over the 7D. The flip out screen is a life saver. Really the only thing the 7D offers over the 60D when it comes to VIDEO Production is the 7D has a better constructed body and is more weather proof. I would buy the 60D, save a few dollars, and spend the rest on good glass.

Any help on this issue would be GREATLY appreciated as I seem to be the only one having this problem and it has been continuing randomly. Really putting a damper on my work-flow and causing a lot of headaches.

    Thanks

September 17, 2010 at 1:13 pm in reply to: PC Monitors on Mac?

I have made the decision to go with two HP LP2475W’s. I like what I have read about these monitors and think they will do the trick for less cost than the Apple Displays.

    Thanks for the input.

I do have a broadcast monitor and that works great but I want the resolution and color accuracy for other things such as graphic design. Some of my work spans out from the broadcast realm so it’s important I have the quality monitors.

Micah I will look into the HP monitors as well as the Dell you spoke about. Are you working on an Apple?

I am having the same problem with my Kona LH and cannot monitor the audio from the LH. I also cannot select the LH as an input although it shows up in the configure device lists. Wayne, have you had any luck or found a solution? Has anyone else ran into this or know what is going on?

March 10, 2009 at 4:31 pm in reply to: RFP and pricing?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. All this helps my situation. I know how hard it is trying to change the RFP process in a University setting. It’s a battle that most likely will not be won.

Just to clarify, I am NOT bidding on this RFP. I had this RFP sent to me from another department on campus. I was going to give the department some helpful tips on the RFP and what they could include based on my experience so hopefully it can help the company who ends up getting the bid.

I do a lot of freelance work and would never accept a proposal like this because of what you all have stated so I assume if someone agrees to it as it is they are not experienced with production and the process. In return the University is not getting the quality/message they probably want. Again, just an assumption.

Thank you Kevin. That’s exactly what I was looking for.

I have about 40 layers of green screen material keyed out and every layer has a different BG. So I have to line up the BG with the appropriate layer. With being zoomed into the timeline as much as I needed to trim the layers accurately it was taking too long to zoom back out, set the time indicator and zoom back into the timeline to trim.
