Titler does the same thing to me, although, I have been able to get it to work a couple times.

November 21, 2011 at 9:13 am in reply to: How do I turn on GPU accelerated video processing?Well, that doesn’t seem to be entirely the case. I have had SVP11 recognize both a cheap Nvidia card as well as my new ASUS HD 6870, but then one day I turned off my PC and when I turned it back on later, SVP didn’t recognize my 6870. I assume its some sort of driver issue again, but I don’t understand how it see’s it for several days, then with no changes on my part, it says GPU OFF without an ON option.

November 21, 2011 at 4:40 am in reply to: Sony Vegas pro 11 – GPU issues with radeon 6870I have almost the exact same thing, I have the same card (ASUS)version, and the green flickering problem. But the real problem I have now is that SVP11 doesn’t even recognize that the card is even there now (WTH!). I just did a complete uninstall/reinstall even going into the registry and removing all the old stuff and program folders and still doesn’t even say its there. This is seriously the most problems I have ever had with Vegas. It crashed constantly if you try to use the New Blue Protype Titler, Took 18 hours to render a 40 minute, three camera HD wedding video last night. The sony AVC codec doesnt show up 90% of the time. This version of Vegas is really making me think about trying a different editing suite. I have used Vegas since version 4.0 and this is just really leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I really hope they figure it out soon and make it more stable, I cant keep investing in a program that I cant trust to work properly at least 95% of the time. Best of luck to you!I think were going to need it.

It probably will not work with the intel integrated graphics. It was even iffy on my desktop GeForce 430 (just upgraded to an ASUS 6870). Vegas has two built in titlers that arent to bad, and there is also one from Sweeden you can look at for $50 called “Bluff Titler” pretty simple to use with a lot of options. The url is below:

Hey John,
Thanks for the quick reply, unfortunately, the only thing I have changed is going from SVP10 to SVP11. The sony AVC codec never disappeared in SVP10. Although, I would have crashes occasionally, but these seemed to be CPU overheating, now have the Antec Kuhler which took care of that. I did just order a new video card (asus radeon 6870)hopefully that will help as well, but after I finish this current project I’m going to try a fresh install unless you have any other ideas. It seems that there are other people in the same boat as me. One thing I have noticed with svp10 and 11 is that Uniblue registry cleaner sees Vegas as a problem and removed it from the registry. But I had problems before using the registry cleaner. In my current project, I still cant find the AVC codec no matter what I do. It really sucks because the MainConcept takes forever to render.David M. Wilson, SCVU

I cant get Vegas 11 pro to show me the sony avc options when I render. Keep having to use main concept for now, how can a sony product keep having so much trouble with their own video format? Sometimes it shows up, sometimes it doesn’t. does it have to do with the type of footage that is on the timeline? Anyone know? I have tried about everything including a clean install, but it does the same thing.

I have tried it a couple times on some three camera edits and it seemed to work about as good as it did in vegas 10. I do find that plural eyes is only about 75% accurate in general over the last year.

April 10, 2011 at 7:35 am in reply to: Vegas Editing PC configurations that allows other apps to run effectively while Vegas renders?I record and edit mostly weddings and special events, I’m not big time, but Ive been at it for over 7 years. I recently built my own desktop PC for Sony Vegas Pro 10 and windows 7, 64bit, I currently use an AMD 3.2 ghz 6core processor as well as mid priced ASUS MOBO, with 12 gigs of DDR3 ram, I have 5 hard drives running with one Seagate free agent 5400rpm drive on an external USB 3.0 interface.
Recently, I edited a rendered a music video from a Chicago area wedding band https://www.clarkjohnsonorchestra.com, which had 5 video and audio track layers, dozens of video effects and transitions. All the original video was placed on the external drive and I rendered to one of the internal WD raptors. While rendering (which took a couple hours), I was able to surf the internet, run MS publisher and outlook without running in “slow motion”. Vegas pro 10 seems to really run well with my new 6 core cpu. If you do the xeon cpu’s Im sure you will have no problem with running multiple processes, since I have no problem with it using a $200 AMD chip. I dont know how well AUTO CAD programs will run, since they are pretty intensive. Good Luck!
