    Hello

This is my first post here. Sorry for my poor eanglish.

Few days ago I bought new graphic card – MSI R6870-2PM2D1GD5/OC, because of new Vegas 11 support much more GPU power. This card was one of four card wich ware tested by sony themself.

I had many many problems to get it working with vegas, but I solved it almost all. But there are still few things that I cant fix at all.

    So my actual status is:

I have instaled Vegas pro 11 trial 64b
In preferences -> video -> GPU processing -> turned on (Advanced Mirco Device, Inc. (barts))
PROBLEM IS: when I try to render to Minecocnept AVC (mp4) in vegas it looks like everything works ok, but when i play result video in WMP or VLC or put it to youtube, there is some green flickering (example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvrEZgZ6Qug )

when I do the same with only CPU rendering, result is OK.

It looks like I have some problems with drivers, but I swear that I tried everything what I found on internet forums (also here).
So now I have: OpenCL 11.7 (I tried 11.11 also)
    Last graphic driver from https://www.amd.com
    Last catalyst suite from https://www.amd.com

what can I miss? Please help me, I am agonized…

ANOTHER PROBLEM: When I try to render to Sony AVC and in system tab check for GPU it wrote “No GPU aviable” but for Mineconcept AVC wrote “OpenCL aviable” Is it normal???

Thank you very much, for any help!

What issues did you have and how did you fix them? I JUST installed the same card today for the same reasons, and it seems to not have any acceleration….can you give me some pointer or point me in the right direction? Thanks….I will see how things with AVC and such work on my end!

    Thanks!

I think my mainly problem was that I didnt uninstall old drivers for my old card (nvidia 8600gt). So I put that Nvidia card back to PC and uninstall everything from Nvidia. Then I also uninstall every drivers from AMD and then I removed old card. So in PC wasnt any graphic drivers and any cards. In this condition I put there new MSI card and instal new drivers for AMD 6870.

I think that you have to use the last drivers from amd. I am not sure, but drivers from MSI dvd (that comes in package with card) are not up to date and do not work with vegas. Also you need OpenCL version 11.7 or newer.

But I still cant get GPU acceleration for Sony AVC codec… 🙁
And Mainconcept codec with can use GPU acceleration is allways rendered with that green bug… 🙁

WHY??? It must work if Sony tested their new product with exactly this card…

(I hope you understand my terrible english, sorry for that)

I have almost the exact same thing, I have the same card (ASUS)version, and the green flickering problem. But the real problem I have now is that SVP11 doesn’t even recognize that the card is even there now (WTH!). I just did a complete uninstall/reinstall even going into the registry and removing all the old stuff and program folders and still doesn’t even say its there. This is seriously the most problems I have ever had with Vegas. It crashed constantly if you try to use the New Blue Protype Titler, Took 18 hours to render a 40 minute, three camera HD wedding video last night. The sony AVC codec doesnt show up 90% of the time. This version of Vegas is really making me think about trying a different editing suite. I have used Vegas since version 4.0 and this is just really leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I really hope they figure it out soon and make it more stable, I cant keep investing in a program that I cant trust to work properly at least 95% of the time. Best of luck to you!I think were going to need it.

I have the exact same problem with any driver installed for my Radeon 6950. It is making me think twice about my allegiance to Sony’s video editing products. They haven’t responded to my tech inquiry from a few days ago.

    Hi
I just found a solution that worked for me straight away..
When installing your amd drivers for 6950 make sure that AMD SDK option is ticked, this will enable the open CL support needed for the gpu acceleration to run.
No need to reinstal drivers, just run the installer package and choose this component to install.
Its been three weeks so you have probably found the solution, but if not.. try this
