Thanks for the clarification, but no I never changed anything to 32 bit and I see in properties that it is still on 8. I think what I might do is just keep using 7, and if I find that I really need ProType for a project I’ll just switch over to 8 for that project. I haven’t really noticed any other benefits in my daily editing over 7.

Sorry I should have mentioned this. Yes, I was doing a project in 7 that I finished and rendered out to dvd architect ntsc mpeg2, then after I had switched to Vegas 8 the client had me swap out one still photo for another and rerender. Even before I had that project to compare (which consisted mainly of jpeg’s with crossfades between them,) I noticed it taking a long time to render mpeg’s from simple projects with raw footage trimmed down and audio edited. But of course I render the audio out separately as AC3.

Sometimes if that doesn’t help it enough, I just resize the photos real quick. I mainly work in SD so 3000xwhatever jpgs are overkill for 720×480 video. You can shrink them in any image program without losing the motions you’ve already done in Vegas.

I don’t have the link handy, but Ed showed me a script that did this perfectly called SelectEventsFromCursor. Perhaps it’s somewhere at the jetdv.com site?

Wow that was absolutely what I was looking for, thanks. I’ll search some sites later and see if there’s a way I can bind that script to a key command, but just having it on the toolbar is a nice addition.

As a follow-up to that question, is there any way to select all events to end using a key combo? Right-clicking and hitting “n” for “select events to end” is nice, but it only selects in the track you’re on plus any grouped clips. I’d love if Vegas 8 would add something like that, or has someone already done that with a script somewhere?
