Good job Duke. You did exactly what I was hoping you would do. You see, unlike Joe, who does all the work for you, I prefer to give hints, hoping you’ll actually dig a bit to discover things on your own, just as you managed in this case, As they say, “give a man a fish and feed him for a day, or give him a net and show him how to use it, and you feed him for a lifetime.”
Now, get to work and edit… 🙂

Because you must update your Nvidia driver to the latest “web driver,” and you must install the Cuda driver separately as well.

Hello Sir Harry!
This sounds like something tied to either a user configuration issue, inadvertant keyboard entry, or just an unexplainable glitch, any or all of which are likely tied to some small inconsistency under the hood of Premiere which has the app confused about the location of your render files. You can spend your the time sleuthing in an effort to quell your curiosity and to help Adobe Tech Support, or you can delete Premiere completely, including using their cleaner app, and then reinstall. Personally, I’d choose option #2, after many a boot drive first for safety, of course.
***FYI, the Adobe cleaner app I referred to is findable via a Google search… I can recall if it deletes ALL Adobe apps in CC, or if you can limit it to Premiere, but in either case it’s not such a big deal for most users, and will ultimately save you time and frustration.
Make sense???

There is no mention in your post of which version of Resolve you’re trying to install.
Have to checked the Resolve documentation to make certain your version supports Windows 10?
Perhaps you should yank the 2nd GPU to see if Resolve will start with a single card? (If it does you can at least identify the issue and then try to resolve the issue(s).

And, people use non-sequetors to deflect attention from their own inability to formulate an adequate response to the question or statement that came before.

March 17, 2016 at 9:44 pm in reply to: FCP X can’t do “pro” is officially vaporized.[Bill Davis] “there were voices arguing loudly here right up to the release of Focus that Apple was TOTALLY jettisoning professionals, that FCP X was aimed at prosumers and web kiddies exclusively – and that the software was and always would be useless from any professional perspective. It was gleefully pronounced with poetic flourish here almost weekly. ”
If by chance you are referring to me Bill, you’re projecting again, because you will NEVER find a single instance anywhere on this planet where I said “never” about anything relating to the future FCP X, other than perhaps the fact that it would never be in my toolbox.
So please, pardon my intrusion, don’t let me interrupt your incessant circle-jerk here. Feel free to carry on patting yourself on the back for sticking with X through thick and thin for last five years, because I do have great admiration for consistency and loyalty.

March 17, 2016 at 7:13 am in reply to: FS7 XAVCI 1080p 24, Is it good idea to cut a feature film shot on XAVCI 1080p natively on premiere CC? or transcoding to pro res proxy?I would transcode to ProRes 422 or HQ, depending on hard drive space available, and edit away without an unnecessary conform at the end of the project. In any case, whatever codec you decide upon, I do think you’ll be happier and more productive editing any of the ProRes flavors, cuz they are hi-performance codecs that simply playback better in realtime when working on long-form projects.

Tim,
If you consider the number of FCP “Legacy” (not Legend BTW) seats that were playing supporting roles in Hollyweird, i.e. used for cutting theatrical trailers, press kits, tv., etc.,etc., etc., you’d be looking at many more seats than your stats reflect.
For example, Disney alone had 149 seats when FCP was EOL’d,and those were being used in a wide number of differing cases depending on the studio’s needs.
So, the moral of the story is, I think guys like myself and Andrew will always argue with the FCP stats, because we know that they simply never do/did real justice to the reality of FCP’s saturation in this market in which we were both working and watching.
