connect and use as an output monitor.”In that case, your best bet is probably to acquire a GTX 680 Mac Edition GPU, which will not oily give you support for three concurrent computer monitors, and will also provide GPU acceleration via the Adobe Mercury Playback Engine.
Call OWC to see if they still have them – if not, ask them what the replacement is that three monitor support.

Don’t screen capture using the h.264 or x264 codec, instead use a high performance codec such as Apple Pro Res or Avid DNX.

Your times are not extraordinary. Encoding to h.264 and x264 are very CPU intensive. If you need them to encode faster you either need a new computer with dual Xeon processors, or a dedicated hardware encoder, such as a Matrox HD Compress card, which typically encodes 5 to 6 times faster.

If you’re not going to up-rez via hardware using a Teranex (best) or an AJA card, then just put your 720p footage on the 1080 timeline and scale if up top it fills the frame. It’ll most likely look great.

Maybe a game changer for those tied to
the Apple platform, but certainly not for those on the Windows platform.Why? Because the options available to those who can install controller cards give Windows users so many options, most likely including USB 3.1, that no one on the side will probably even notice. Keep in mind, 12G PCIe controller cards have been out for nearly a year, with little fanfare. Of course, few on the Mac side even noticed, because they are stuck with Apple dictated connectivity, with only limited, and expensive, options via thunderbolt expansion chassis.
