Please clarify, are asking about FCP 7 (this forum), or FCP X (not this forum)?

And, are you asking about a new Mac Pro (cylinder), or a used Mac Pro (tower)?

Dave,

Unlike ever other NLE manufacturer, including Avid, Apple, Sony, Blackmagic, Grass Valley, etc., Adobe is a software ONLY company, and they have never manufactured hardware. Why would they change that now, and what in your opinion would that achieve?

You can always try playing back in realtime and having a smartphone create a transcript, but unfortunately there are no dedicated transcript apps.

I wrote an article about it here on the Cow way back when, when I covered the launch of CS4. The accuracy of its speech to text translation was simply not good enough to be useful for most users, and though it was thought that the technology would improve the accuracy over time, it never did.

No, the max frame size of FCP 7 is 2000 pixels wide, or 2K.

The “Motion Team” as they are often referred to are located in Venice, CA. My understanding is, they were all pulled off of Motion a few years back and put on the iPhone graphics detail, before returning to their original Motion development gig. I think they routinely get pulled onto other gigs, as I just can’t see Apple deriving a whole lot of revenue via Motion.
