Im using Blackmagic’s Intensity Pro just for monitoring, works great and price is really cheap too. and I can also get HD out via component.

We use Maccaption at our facility. Software is easy to learn and doesnt take long to export an entire show. Only thing is if you’re capioning entire shows is Transcribing the show word for word,which is the longest part of the captioning workflow.

how much ram do you have? you need at leaast 1 gig per core.

Try to “rar” your files. you can typically break up a large file into many smaller files and send it that way. then when your clients downloads all the “rar” files they can unzip it and the disc image will be whole again for them to burn.

don’t know much about playout systems for Windows, but you might want to check out softron’s OnTheAir Video for use with a Mac Pro.
Also, is there no VAR in your area you can contact?

Havent used the built-in recorder on ichat, but i have used conference recorder by icamm. only $15. For what its worth, its pretty good, records into a h264 file. maybe something you want to look into..

Have you tried reseating the battery? sometimes it just needs to get smacked in there. But if that doesnt work, usually the X means that it cannot be charged, bring it into the apple store if you have a warranty to get a new batt. or pick up a new one.
