    Hey Guys!

I am editing dv footage in FCS 2 on a mac pro… I wanted to hook up a monitor while i am editing in FCP..

Now i can’t afford an aja box or something of similar kind…. niether do i want to keep the DSR 25 hooked up to my system all the time ( Others need it for capturing )… I was wondering if there is any other cheap solution to get an analog output of my mac somehow?

At the studio here , i have noticed a couple of Jumbo cables with multiple outputs on one end and single input on the other end… I can’t figure out if it will work with my mac… But at some point they were used for edius installed on PCs

Black Magic designs has some less expensive cards that give you SD video out. There is no free ride here so you will have to spend at least several hundred bucks.

There’s also the Canopus converters which are even cheaper. You’ll want to unplug it when you hook up your deck though.

    Have a wonderful day.

Im using Blackmagic’s Intensity Pro just for monitoring, works great and price is really cheap too. and I can also get HD out via component.

    hmm… I wonder what this button does…
