OT battery in MBP
Excuse me for being off topic. My MBP seems not to be charging my battery anymore. The indicator on the screen has a x thru the battery icon ? and it says battery is not installed. Is this just a battery gone completly dead on me ? Is my first Mac, about two years old

is the battery fully in or has it come loose? Is it bulging? If so, get it out of there & get thee to an Apple Store Genius bar & have them replace it.

Have you tried reseating the battery? sometimes it just needs to get smacked in there. But if that doesnt work, usually the X means that it cannot be charged, bring it into the apple store if you have a warranty to get a new batt. or pick up a new one.
hmm… I wonder what this button does…
