Ultimately it will depend on the quality of the microphone you use, mate, if its a cheap mic, it will sound cheap. I had the strange notion you were going to just use the on board mp3 recorder mic! heaven forbid it!

most mp3 recorders nowadays have very good recording qualities which is excellent for a mic-input but not an onboard mic. find yourself a phantom powered mic and see if that works (i dont think you will get much response from a mic without phanton power – though other people are welcome to correct me)

Mods, can we move this thread since it isnt Premire Pro related directly.

    All the best mate!

Did anyone have a clue what I’m on about?

Has anyone tried doing this before?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Oh, that would be my mistake then.

I purposely changed the project resolution to the widescreen settings because I wanted to reframe my 4:3 shots into widescreen – to hide the cr*p bits!

I am guessing that was the wrong thing to do! Any suggestions on how else to go about it instead?

    Thanks,

    False alarm.

It seems Encore transcodes the files on the drive the project is saved.

    Seems odd to me.

Anyways, please would an admin/mod remove these postings?

    Thanks,

    Me again, investigation has continued…

When re-encoding the AVI files in Virtualdub using the Panasonic DV Codec fixes the problem completely. So by the looks of it, it is an export problem is Premiere…?

    Yes thank you all!

I’ve managed to work out what to do – it seems pretty simple!

And there’s me thinking never to touch “Specify Other..” or the Disc properties!

    Thanks,
    David.

I’m asking how it is done.

I don’t mean it to be an encore problem. but I’m using encore and its a problem for me because I don’t know how!

Yes previously I had been transcoding the files as soon I import them into Encore… shall I assume it is better to let Encore transcode when all the assets are imported?

If so then might be the problem.
