    Hiya,

    Application: Adobe Encore DVD 1.5
Operating System: Windows XP Pro v2002- Service Pack 2
    CPU: 2.40ghz
    Memory: 512 RAM

Problem: Imported AVI (with captions) fails to display its captions for the required length but the file plays fine in a player, its when it reaches Encore that when played/exported onto DVD the video displays the caption for a split-second then waits till the duration of the still finishes (in this space of time the picture is black) and then plays the video – in some cases the video has paused but then continues playing as normal.

Where has the problem occurred? The AVI plays fine elsewhere, but once in Encore it fouls up when a caption-which is burnt into the AVI video is played.

    Any ideas?

    David.

    Me again, investigation has continued…

When re-encoding the AVI files in Virtualdub using the Panasonic DV Codec fixes the problem completely. So by the looks of it, it is an export problem is Premiere…?

Your name in red is a flag to you to indicate in which topics you have posted. It’s kind of a visual search assistant.

What codec was used for your source video in Premiere? DV avi? MPEG? DivX? Something else?

What were your project settings in Premiere?

    What were your export settings?

Are the titles (captions) composited over video or still images?

I’m considering the possibility that this is caused by having “Optimize Stills” checked in your project and export settings, but that shouldn’t be an issue for the composited titles if they were composited over video clips.
