Thanks Daniel. I was able to get hold of one of the tech guys from the company who installed the system. He recommended wmv-9 with a bitrate between 1500 and 300 and mp4. He wasn’t really sure about H-264 support. So I guess I start working with 2 two codecs.

Interesting post. I was just doing some digging myself. I found an article by Mark Christiansen on the AdobePress website that partially deals with this subject. At least with maximum of Ram. The article is about otimizing your CS4 pipeline and can be found here: https://www.adobepress.com/articles/article.asp?p=1316795&seqNum=4
And scroll all the way down till the end of the article.

So I guess there’s not much use for RamDisks in this case. I think you benefit more from an add-on like GridIron Nulceo Pro to speed up some of the processes (https://www.gridironsoftware.com/).

Thanks Filip! I didn’t see that there were 3 more pages to that section. Lack of sleep I guess 😉

You didn’t mention if you’re on a Mac or on a Pc. For Mac, OpenGL in CS3 isn’t supported yet as far as I know.

I saw a tutorial about that a few years back. I can’t remember who made it. Try a search here on the Cow.

Some plugins don’t like to be double on your machine. At least on Macs. Therefore I’ve placed an alias folder of the 3rd party plugs from AE6.5 in my AE7 folder.

There is an option I once read about. Use a texteditor and open you aep project. Alter the header back to ae7 and save. I can’t remember the specifics and I’m not sure if this works for cs3 too but it was pretty easy.

Wasn’t there a hack that if you opened a aep-file in a text editor and altered something in the first few command lines and saved it you could open it in older versions. Of course only with the features that both versions support.

Thanx Dan. But that was not what I meand. My jack went from a negative y-value (in the box) to a positive y-value (out the box). I’ve created a new box, smaller and closer to the camera. Problem sorted. But your script alteration for a z-value will come in handy in this project too. Thanx Dan!
