Apology accepted. I know this has been a tough time for you guys and you have my respect. You, Todd, and Kevin are a great bunch of people. Often we hear too many complaints and not enough positive feedback. I feel positive feedback is just as important, if not more so than all the negative stuff that goes on. I just see CC as a business decision, nothing more. Might not agree with it, but accept the fact that it is just a business decision.

  • Another robust set of tools. This will speed up post-production and something that has me interested in. I think this NAB has had more innovation and excellent news then in years previous. Then again, every NAB feels that way. My two cents, whatever it is worth.

P.S. I feel a strong sense of optimism for X this year. The team at Black Magic Design changed the playing field, something else that I am very optimistic about. Not to mention the camera form AJA, rich feature set and priced reasonably.

[Charlie Austin] “[Scott Witthaus] “the new folks using X never knew tracks and would have no reason to “go back”.”

Some not so new folks using X know tracks quite well, and also don’t want to “go back” 🙂

[Scott Witthaus] “I just find it interesting the prominent mentions X gets in the articles.”

It’s the only NLE mentioned in the email blast.”

Oh boy, tracks! I actually watched one of their videos, and it seems to have better trim tools. I hope Red Giant will announce support. Still, there are a few things that X does pretty darn well. It is pro software not a toy ! My two cents, whatever it is worth.

Why get out the butter when there is no bread on the table?

    * Edit *
I would probably do most of the editing in Resolve but ship that over to FCP X for additional finishing. Motion has the tools to build a nice looking lower third for use in X where I would add titles, lower thirds and transitions. That is, assuming I can export an XML out of Resolve to bring into X that works correctly. I think the three tools combined will make for a killer system on a small budget.

Looking for a real alternative to Photoshop and Illustrator when I want to do some more classic looking title sequences. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated.

I am now waiting for Red Giant to take Universe from beta to full power. Will start out monthly and go to lifetime membership. Post has changed, again and for the better!

At least they are not draining your bank account every month while you wait. 🙂

It took me sometime getting used to the organization structure but find it useful. I do sometimes miss bins but really like how you can organize stuff. I guess sometimes old habits are hard to break and sometimes it is difficult to adjust to new ways of doing things.

Here is what I would like to see in the next update:

    1. The ability to have more than one scope available at the same time. Switching between scopes is not very efficient. Also, have the ability to have one, two, or all scopes available. Resolve has this option.

    2. Allow the scopes and color correction tools to be placed on a second monitor and hide the events browser. We can then have access to all the tools and scopes. Switching between exposure then the color box gets kind of tedious. Consider putting the exposure tab on the left with the color box in the middle and all else on the right.

    3. Better keyframing tools, really don’t need to say anything else here.

    4. Please bring back “Sent To Motion”, thank you.

    5. There is some empty space where some more buttons could be placed. A custom tool set would be welcome as well.

    My two cents.

This next update will most likely be a minor one – mainly to address performance and take care of any bugs under the hood. I doubt very much that an update release with new features would be released this early in the game. Then again Apple has been known to do things that defy logic.

Short term this would interest me but long term it will get expensive at least for someone who is an independent filmmaker, let alone does this for a hobby. My two cents.

I just had to click on the link. Still, it was funny and there was nothing better to do.
