In all honesty this is my go to forum. Despite some of the crazy things that happen in here I do find this forum useful. I am being serious. With that said I do frequent the real FCPX forum and Resolve as well. Just try to look past the noise because there is some very useful content here. Facebook groups have their place but this forum is much more useful for a wider discussion of hardware, software and all things related. My two cents.

As far as I know this is the only forum of its kind anywhere. The groups I am in as a member, moderator or admin on Facebook are just as you described. Like this forum there is the occasional noise which I try to clean up. However, the noise level in here is to expected and is somewhat “normal” including any food fights. ???? All in all I think the name [u]Apple Talk[/u] would be detrimental to this forum or at least result in confusion for reasons stated earlier. I thought about suggesting (as a joke) [u]Bill Davis Is Right You Are Holding It Wrong.[/u] However, that would attract ants to the picnic. ????

I am grateful to you and Tim Wilson for your support and words of encouragement over the years. As far as a new name goes perhaps NLE: The Great Debate would be another suggestion. Whatever the new name is I will respect your decision. I am looking forward to the new website in October. Things have changed over the years here but have always been of the positive variety. Thank you for the update and for keeping everyone informed. Looking forward to the new and exciting changes!

I was hoping they would make something for the 2013 Mac Pro but guessing Thunderbolt 3 is not backwards compatible. Still of interest to me regardless. It would not surprise e if BMD were to start offering storage solutions next.

Thank you! That explains why Resolve replaced Timeline with Keyframes. My other question is about using a portion of a clip but have it be somewhere in the middle, say like 10 seconds in. Is that too complicated?

I can’t believe the amount of disparaging remarks I have seen on Facebook including a group that I am an admin in. One troll really did not like Adobe After Effects for whatever reason. He said it needed to be burned. Sometimes it feels like certain posts in here are borderline on being of that mentality. Another genius was pretty nuch saying Final Cut Pro X was for rich people. Does it really matter what software someone uses? Granted there is some bias in all of us but pissing on others with childish insults is so not cool. I may not use Premiere Pro but at the same time I am not going to troll someone who enjoys working with it. Why can’t we stop with the “it’s garbage” posts? Keep the disagreements civil.

I do like the instances feature which was what I was inquiring about but agree with what you said. So many cool things about Fusion.

I came across an interesting post yesterday in Resolve user group on Facebook and thought I would share it here. Definitely a very useful and time saving feature when utilized properly. Not sure whether to call it a child parent relationship as in After Effects but very interesting.
